Re: When The Battle's O'er: EL ALAMEIN WAR CEMETERY

Now this item brings back a few memories from North Africa.

In 1965 I was one of the team that tested out the famous "Pink Panther" landrover in Libya for 22, we travelled from Tripoli through the desert to the "Lady be Good"
    check out:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lady_Be...%28aircraft%29

It was a Liberator aircraft that had gone out on an attack had to turn back and missed the airport on return and crash landed in the desert, the crew all bailed out and eventually died trying to get back to the coast,it wasn't found until 1959, many of the bodies were eventually recovered.

We then we travelled to the various war cemeteries and somewhere in my vast collection of photo's is one of the Black Watch memorial.

We then met up with 1BW and had a feed and wash down before continuing on our travels.
