Joe, Having problems with finding your man . No Patterson with these initials listed in the Officers in the BW books ( not even with one "t" either. Had a look at the Medal index at the National Archives in Kew and again no one with that name or even these initials in the medal roll

An idea is for you to see what you can find on the website for the London Gazette for someone with the name Patterson and put in a check for OBE and see what comes up from that search of the London Gazettes . Also the newspapers over there websites checking archive section for OBE awards . A visit to your Library of some size to see the Who Was Who books and see if your man is listed after he got his OBE award as from then he may have got into the Whose Who publications listing his military service and employment and the reason for his OBE being awarded. I note he does not have the TD in that list !

See what you can find out and hope this gives you some ideas to look at

TGF Paterson OBE - Writer and Historian was the first curator of the Armagh County Museum.

    From the site:

Of particular interest, the section on local history contains the collective writings of TGF Paterson.

    Hello Chalky,
Thanks for that, I knew that he was the curator, but did not know that he had written so many books, trying to find out where he is buried.
    Good Luck

Guess what Joe...... There is an Officer listed under
GF Paterson in the Officers of the BW but he's in the 5th Bn as a 2/Lt from 7 Aug 1915 , MID 1 July 1917 , then to 4/5th Bn as Capt with sen 1 July 1917 . This G F Paterson is also mentioned in the pages of the BW in the Gr War edited by Major Gen AG Wauchope

Just thought I would throw the info to you . will have a look at this man's medal roll to see what the National Archives say
