    Piper Henry Forker, 7th Battalion

In "Roll of Honour of the Pupils and Staff of Dunfermline High School - The Great War 1914-1919" (published 1920) I read the following entry:
Forker, Henry, Piper, 1/7 B.W. Later Pipe-Major to Volunteers. Address - Wellwood.
He is also mentioned as a Piper in the 7th Battalion Black Watch in "The Pipes of War" by Seton/Grant. No reg. number is mentioned.
He probably became a Pipe Major after the war, but was that in one of the volunteer battalions of the Black Watch and when?
Any information about Henry Forker as a Pipe Major is welcome!

He went to F&F in a draft on the 2nd of May 1915.
He was discharged on 17th of April 1916 as his term of service had come to an end.

    Hi,
Have not come across him as being the Pipie of the Fife Volunteer Bn. Pre 1908 the Pipe Major was from St Andrews and following that in 1908 when they became TF it was a builder from Anstruther who moved to Newburgh in 1912.
Will have a dig about and see what I have for Forker. Wonder if he had been in a non Black Watch Volunteer Battalion as Pipe Major.

Do you know the names of the Pipe Majors of the Fife Volunteer Battalion (and the number of the battalion) you are referring to?
