    Thanks Chalky, the date is wrong then with all those medals must have been taken late 1920s.
    He ended up as Deputy Commissioner Metropolitan Police and Chairman of The Black Watch Museum.

    Posted in Aberdeen 1906 unsure of the regiment but I think it might be 5th VBRH in their old South African dress.
    Officer seated is wearing a compass on his wrist.

    Ron,

    These look like Gordon Highlanders to me. Notice the black buttons on the spats of the Captain in the last image. Also, I think I can see belled hose flashes.

    Thanks Mike, I had no idea about the colour of the buttons or the hose flashes. Cannot see the familiar shield badge of the Gordons on the sporran? Though the quality of the photo is pretty poor.
