    1st Bn 1917.
    The two pipers are Pipe Major George Thom on the left and Sgt 1314 Bob Smith MSM on the right.
    My thanks to Alistair Duthie for identification, he also pointed out they are Sgts at Bn HQ not Staff Sgts.

    453rd refers to it as an Agricultural Company
    are details at the castle in the S/ numbers books

    Hes speaking to 58 Drum Major Peter McNeill outside the Station Hotel at Perth obviously getting the train to go on camp!!
    Drummie from 1908 was discharged 1916.

    Would not have known that fact.

    Pipey,
    Have found out that the Scottish Home Service Employment Service Coys were numbered 450-469.
    They were men from Class B3,C3. The Agricultural Coys were engaged on fodder collection.
