    The material does appear to be lighter than the uniform, I don’t think they are covered as you can see tourees.

    I would say that they were Tam O Shanters and the lighter ones are probably weather worn.When the 1st Bn was in Cyprus 58 - 61,we used to scrub them till they were faded to make us look like old soldiers. Bill...

    1st Bn Edinburgh Castle 1913? He wears a two year good conduct stripe, I think the medal ribbon is for the GV coronation 1911.
