Carte-de-Visite by C.Mitchell of Forfar & Kirriemuir. Half length portrait of a Cpl in the Angus Rifle Volunteers. He wears the single word shoulder title ANGUS worn 1883-1887. In that year they were re-designated as 2nd (Angus) Volunteer Bn Black Watch. He also wears a prize shooting medal with a depiction of a kneeling rifleman with the words IN DEFENCE above.

Nice group possibly family? The tall man might be the bass drummer? Seated man is a Scots Guardsman, circa 1905?

    Hi Ron,
Are there any photographs of the Regimental Police in the album of the 2nd Black Watch Cherat 1905? I would be interested to see them, to see what type of insignia they wore in India during this period.
    All the best,
    Stewart
