    Powrie Brae Memorial Dundee, opened by the Queen Mother in 1959 bears the names of 85 men of the 4/5th Bn in WW2.
    Designed by Scot Sutherland who also designed the Commando Memorial at Spean Bridge.

    Drummer 1s Bn Aldershot 1913.
    Wearing dirk and kilt pin, his buckle has a Victorian crown.
    Seam on jacket sleeve where drummers lace has been removed.

    The Black Watch were stationed in Hong Kong 1972-4.
    There was a six week company exercise by B Coy to North Queensland in June 1972.

    Yes you are correct reading the article it states “whatever part they have to play in the Pacific war zone”.
    Also the uniforms look WW2. Unsure which Battalion it is though and what date?

    The Austrian knots on the sleeve cuffs were withdrawn in 1905 so circa 1900.

    The officer later became Major General Robert Keith Arbuthnott, 15th Viscount of Arbuthnott, CB, CBE, DSO, MC, DL, MIDx3, LM (USA).
    Colonel of the Black Watch 1960-1964.
