A scarce Great War period 'Dundee War Women's Relief Fund' gilded brass and enamel badge. To the centre the 'City arms of Dundee', the reverse impressed with the low membership number 19/1 and makers details Rattray Dundee the well known jeweller and goldsmith of 32 Nethergate.
At the begining of the war the offer by the Dundee's Women's Suffrage Society of their staff for war work was greatefully accepted by the Lord Provost on behalf of the City of Dundee and the committee of ladies was formed. The fund sent innumerable comforts to soldiers serving at home and abroard and carried out administrative duties for the Scottish Women's Hospital.
