A 3 inch diameter white metal plaid brooch.
Heavy cast metal with a design of Celtic knots and bosses, no thistles and no motto so perhaps a civilian piece rather than a regimental one.

Three Highland Cyclists Bn buttons mounted on a bar brooch for wear as a sweetheart.
All buttons are marked Armfield & Co Birm. Blue shadows are a fault on my scanner.

Two page letter dated 18/9/15. Alex H Knox 6048 C Coy 10th Black Watch, Sutton Verney.
This is a letter to his friend Stanley and his parents recounting times spent billeted with them.
"I have been unable to get a cane for you but I am enclosing the next best-three of our Regimental buttons. I hope you like these they will serve as a souvenier of the many pleasent times I had with you while at Bristol".
"I dont remember wether I told you where we are going. It is France as we are equipped with respirators".

The 10th would have worn general service buttons, these are officers gilt pattern all by Armfield & Co Birm.

Naive soldiers wool-work on a canvas backing. Probably made by a 2nd Bn man in India 1902-10.
Temperance men were encouraged to take up needlework as a pastime to counter the inactivity and insobriety prevalent in Indian stations.
The A.T.A. reached a peak of 70,000 members in 1895. their motto Watch and be Sober..
