1st Bn pipers plaid brooch of 3" diameter. Cast in a very brassy white metal, stout iron pin to the reverse. The hasp and clasp clumsily repaired with lead solder, the name ROB crudely scratched at the top the initials MW at the bottom. Quite heavy service wear and polish to details. Probably made in India 1890s, not happy about losing their Forty-Twa distinction 42 silver numerals have been added to the brooch fixed with copper rivets.

Silver plated large size plaid brooch, just over four inches.
The yellow effect is not gilt but tarnished lacquer.
