came across this photo but i think it's wrong can anyone identify these troops?

definately looks like Black Watch, Chuck, but the bonnets are,nt right, May be Canadians tho,

It is an Argyll badge,definitely not BW,The badge is too round The Watch wisna in Tripoly in 1950

Looks more like the famous victory march through Tripoli after the allies defeated the Axis forces in North Africa in 1943.I think the cap badge is too round for the Argyll,(mess tin)as it was some times referred to,perhaps its one of the English/Scottish regiments.!!!Bill...

Early 1948: Berlin (for 3 months during airlift)
1948: Germany: Glamorgan Barracks, Duisburg
13 July 1948: amalgamated with 2nd Battalion without change of title
1950.04 Berlin: Montgomery Barracks
1951.10 Germany: Spey Barracks, Buxtehude
1952. Brief visit to Scotland before Korea.
A&SH
1945.06 UK
1947 Palestine
1948 UK
1948.09.30 amalgamated with 2nd Battalion without change of title
1948.10 England: Colchester
1949.06 Hong Kong
1950.08.29 South Korea: Pusan
1950.08 Korea 27 Inf Bde

Neither of the candidates in Tripoli in 1950.

could be a wrong date then or could be Canadians i'll have a look at the Canadian site.. ok the Canadian Agylls weren't in Africa in WWII that i can find.. i'll keep looking.. thanks fer the comments.. i didn't think it looked like the BW either..

After a wee bit more research and going by the Black Sporran with two white tassles and the shape of the cap badge.
It is the 1st Battalion, The Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders
They were in Tripoli from Feb 1949 as part of the British peacekeeping initiative during the run up to Libyan independence in 1951.
In Nov 1951 they were posted to the Canal Zone.
